Last week, One Thumb Joe held our 1st Annual Chili Cookoff. Lots of fun and fine food. There were 10 entrants. Nina won 1st place & $100dlls. Jerry won 2nd & $50dlls Johnny Manana tied 3rd for $25. Campo Lorenzo was also 3rd and won "Peoples Choice". With hindsight, Mexicans here do not prepare our type chili. Amanda of Cielito prepared a great chiles poblano dish and Old Mill prepared the extreme crowd pleaser of yellow chiles stuffed with scallops & cheese. I think next year the cookoff will be "Chiles y Chili Cookoff". We sold 30 cookoff t shirts to finance the cookoff. Could have sold more.
